I designed the Milagros Collection of stamps specifically to create these special 'matchbox' shrines because I love Mexican Folk art and I especially love the art, life and history of Frida Kahlo. I designed these as, sort of, a tribute to her. After I created the stamps, I got together with my friend Gina Hubbard from Gina's Designs and we came up with Nicho Kits to coordinate with the entire Milagros Collection!
There are so many ways to use this collection, we'll use the stamps, Wood Icing, and paint along with a variety of other supplies and materials to design fantastic colorful niches to fill with your favorite art icons or photos. Beware...these babies are addicting!
Below is the class materials list and basic instructions.
I hope you enjoy making these as much as I do. What a fun thing to create as a grouping. Make them as mini photo frames and displays for tiny treasures!
